ADELMAN PEONY GARDEN - 5/26/19

My coworker, Brittany, and I were discussing how peonies are far superior to any other flower and how incredible it would be if there was a peony garden to go visit. She got a curious look in her eye and immediately started searching online. To our surprise, there was indeed a peony garden in Salem that we could visit.

I had never heard of anyone talk about this place before. Perhaps it’s not as photogenic for the ‘grammers, since the peonies are pretty sparse in some places. We spent quite some time there, though, wandering about the isles of gloriously enormous and fragrant flowers. With each new species of peony we stumbled upon, we’d stoop down low to take turns inhaling their sweet perfume, admiring each one’s unique beauty.

When we finished wandering the grounds, we spent time at the shop where you can view a beautiful peony room showcasing a large variety of species, like a living museum. There was also an ever-replenishing stand of peonies for sale, and at $2 a piece, I had trouble resisting the urge to buy out the whole stand. Though, I still walked away with an embarrassingly large armful of flowers. For the next week and a half, my apartment was filled with the sweet aroma of my absolute favorite flower. What a dream!
